Can my child apply?
Birthday, entry year, deadline, capacity, and whether the current cycle is actually published.
New York City · Kindergarten discovery
This is not a ranking and it is not a list of schools for somebody else’s child. Filter by the realities that shape your family’s week—location, grade span, program, admissions status, cost, and aid—then open the sources and decide what deserves a closer look.
Every included program has a currently verifiable NYC campus and Kindergarten offering. Operational facts come from current school pages and are dated. Conflicts and missing details remain visible. Niche is linked as an additional review and directory perspective, never as the authority for deadlines, tuition, or testing.

Birthday, entry year, deadline, capacity, and whether the current cycle is actually published.
Commute, grade runway, total price, aid model, campus changes, and religious or program commitments.
A verified reason to investigate—not an invented “best for” label or prestige signal.
The question to ask admissions, a current family, or a teacher because public materials cannot settle it.

How to use the links
Use the school’s admissions and tuition pages for the current process. Use Niche to encounter self-selected parent and student sentiment across multiple grades and years. A review is not a current Kindergarten sample, and a school’s own page cannot by itself establish everyday culture.
Continue with our Kindergarten admissions guide, models, commute, and family-fit guide, financial-aid guide, and NYC research desk.
The first cuts are often unglamorous: can this child apply, can this family make the trip twice a day, can it sustain the full cost, does the program address the child’s actual needs, and will the school answer hard questions clearly? Famous names receive no automatic priority here.
Religious, international, Montessori, progressive, and single-sex schools represent real educational commitments, not lifestyle tags. We will offer judgment when the evidence supports it—an unusually narrow entry point, unclear cost, a difficult campus transition, or a meaningful program distinction—but we will not manufacture culture from a brand, a brochure, or a handful of reviews. This tool should narrow the field. A visit, direct questions, and an honest look at the weekly routine must finish the decision.
Coverage note: This verified set is not exhaustive. Use it as a starting point, and confirm religious, international, Montessori, specialized, and smaller programs directly. Inclusion is not an endorsement; omission is not criticism.
